Festivals & Events

turriff showShows, events, games and festivals make up the rich and diverse culture of Aberdeenshire. Turriff Agricultural Show, established over 140 years ago is the largest 2-day show in Scotland and a showcase of prime modern agricultural management. Turriff also boasts the Pipe Band Championship with 20 bands competing for coveted prises in June.

pipe majorHighland Games and Agricultural Shows take place most weekends throughout the summer months but Portsoy Boat Festival at the beginning of July displays the fishing heritage and sea life wonders of the north-east. The Doric Festival, a weeklong program of events celebrate the rich dialect of Aberdeenshire through music, dance and ballads. The Taste of Grampian is a daylong exhibition of the food and produce of the area.Visual arts are celebrated during the coast festival in Banff & Macduff at the end of May.
