Or why not indulge in pure Scottish hospitality by meandering through our Glens - Glenfiddoch, Gelndronnach, Glenlivet where the very best of Scottish barley is turned into the water of life - distilled to perfection for you to taste.

Activities are many and varied in Aberdeenshire from swimming our shores and pools in summer, skiing at the Lecht and Glenshee in winter or calmly gliding over the north-east’s scenic terrain. Turriff also offers a wide choice of sport and leisure. Golf, bowling, swimming, play park, sports centre, horse riding and trekking, tennis, cycling, shooting, fishing and shopping. Aberdeen, locally called the Granite City for the famous architecture is only 45 minutes from the Ardmiddle Mains cottages where the entertainment is endless. From the renowned Duthie park gardens to the culture of theatre, music hall the Beach Esplanade, restaurants and shopping galore.

Fishing

Fishing in Aberdeenshire can be experienced in many different guises - on lochs, estuaries, and fisheries or on the splendid rivers of the Deveron, Ythan, Ugie, Dee and Don.

The local River Deveron rises in the high hills of the Cabrach is renowned for wonderful salmon as well as brown and sea trout. Rainbow, brown and brook trout is in abundance in the well stocked fisheries but if you prefer sea angling the tiny villages and picturesque harbours dotted around the dramatic coastline provide excellent fishing for those on holiday.
